Via Ferrata, is it an obstacle course or a test of endurance? This unique AvA adventure; not only brings on the excitement, but it provides you with a vantage point to some of Colorado’s most beautiful mountain top views. Via Ferrata, an Italian word, which translates to the iron path, has a history as long as the mountains they inhabit. They originated in Italy during WW1 and after, some time, have sporadically engulfed the world. They first made their appearance on the Austrian Dachstein mountain in 1843. Via Ferrata made their re-appearance in the 19th century throughout the alps and Pyrenees until the beginning of the 20th century.

Idaho Spring is commonly known for its rich history in the mining industry. As well as being the birthplace of the 1859 gold rush, it now fosters some of Colorado’s most exciting and thrilling adventures. Idaho Springs is home to Mount Evans Via Ferrata, a 14,000+ foot peak about 30 – 40 mins from Denver. This high-flying aerial adventure brings all your senses to life, along with your guide, horizontally scale the mountain top as you traverse through the clouds zipping and climbing through this heart-pumping adventure.

All Via Ferrata adventures provide guests with a helmet, harness, and instruction on how to proceed on the course. This course embarks over the Idaho springs and Chicago creek area, fitted with a 500 feet free fall, a 70-foot rappel, and an array of suspended bridges situated 300 feet above the beautiful Chicago creek. (Just look down.)

Buena Vista, translated as (good view) in Spanish, is located right between collegiate peaks and the good old Arkansas river. Granite Via Ferrata, along with the town, is located in the southern region of Colorado. This beautiful town reaching an elevation of 8,000 ft is known for its laid-back mountain town vibes, as well as the massive 14,000+ ft mountain that is home to the Granite via Ferrata.
